Really great to read this! I’m writing from BitterSweet Partnership, a business unit in the UK which has been set up by Molson Coors UK to address the fact that women have been ignored by the UK beer industry (beer sales in women in the UK are among the lowest in Europe, and we surveyed 2000 women and found they do like beer, but often feel embarrassed to order it outside of music or sports events)

We held the type of ‘tasting experiment’ you describe with beer and food matching. One of the beers that went down really well was Bacchus Frambozen, which was paired with a chocolate brownie. The reaction was amazing – all the women loved it. We’ve also been discussing fruit beer on our Facebook group www.facebook.com/bittersweetpartnership, with some really positive responses.
